MY STORY:

I`m 31 years young and I live and work in London. I`m a Finance Analyst at the office and a happy mom and wife at home. Well, I`m also a loyal (and sometimes crazy) friend for my gals.

For the past few years, I have managed to build a strong skillset, sustainable connections, and great friendships. All this thanks to my job!

   That is why MyJobMove was born – to help other women do the same!

   Because you deserve the opportunity to get a job that makes you proud, happy and financially independent. No matter what your background is!

   I’ve done it, you can do too!

Was it hard?

Hell, yeah!

The beginning was hard indeed! I remember moving to London like it was yesterday…It was back in 2012. Coming from a small, peaceful town in Eastern Europe where personal happiness and joy are priorities, moving to one of the biggest cities in the world was tough karma. It takes twice (if not treble) the effort to prove you are worthy, capable and deserve a better chance.

It was like changing identities: I was a student in one of the best universities in my home country, surrounded by intelligent and ambitious people. I was chasing dreams, making friendships, enjoying the life of a gal in her early twenties.

But I made the choice to move abroad. Just like that: to look for new challenges and explore a completely different world.

And the fairytale began. I felt like Alice in Wonderland the City for the first couple of months: the huge buildings, the amazing museums, endless dining options…There were so many attractions to explore from.

But I also had to think about the rent, the food and generally how to make it on my own. That`s why I had to dump Alice and turn into Cinderella. As an immigrant from Eastern Europe, I didn`t have permission to be hired by employers for a long time (2 years to be exact) so I had to start working as a self-employed person. I was something between a housekeeper and a nanny at £6.00 per hour.

I won`t go into details of my “housekeeping career” because the only important thing is that this two-year-long journey helped me become the strong and independent woman I am today.

But I have to mention the 5th of December 2012. I will never forget that day. I was cleaning the bathroom of a lady in South London, who made me do it 4 times before giving me the well-deserved £12, while my peers from uni were having the official graduation party back home. This was the day when I promised myself I will start a successful corporate career in London. No matter what!

Man, it was hard…The language barrier, the cultural differences, the financial struggles, the stereotypes… I`ve been misjudged at least 1000 times! If you are (or have been) in a similar situation, you know exactly what I`m talking about.

Yet, I have made it! Two years later I got my foot into the corporate world. I got a job that I still enjoy! No family money, no power, no rich partner, no connections, no real home… I have made it thanks to my own self, my confidence, and my persistence…

But I was really frustrated at the start of my application process. Most career building platforms and recruitment services were mainly tailored to help professionals. Unfortunately, they still are… It`s easy to build an attractive resume and apply when you have a lot to offer, right?

    But what if you`re starting from scratch?

I`m also not a Lady with the perfect manners, expensive clothing, and fancy accessories who teaches you how to enter the high-caliber society.

I`ve been there once. I didn`t like it.

I prefer wearing my denim, my wedding ring, and having out loud laughter with my girls.

I`m currently building a successful career in Finance although I have a degree in Science of Culture and a diploma in Business and Administration.

But helping people to achieve their personal best is my second nature.

It always has been. I haven`t even realized how and when I started helping non-natives with their career choices, resumes and language skills (I should say here I have not yet achieved a mastery in English which is pretty obvious when you read through my posts! But please take this as an example that progress is more important than perfection😊).

I got certified in life coaching because I really enjoy this part of my life and one year later MyJobMove was born!

 I find success in being valuable to self and others, have the so called “inner peace” and feel good about who I am and what I do.

I strongly believe any successful thing in life starts with your desire to progress further and the belief you can achieve more! I also don`t believe in quick wins. They don`t work for most people. Surely not for me 🙂

The best thing you can do for your career is to invest time and effort in yourself. This is how you add value. This is how you give a great example to your kids. This is how you grow.
